Monsoon has arrived and is showing no signs in India of leaving, so our hair and skin are at risk. Rainwater is not at all good for our hair. Rainwater contains a lot of pollutants which causes hair damage, hair fall, dandruff and even fungal infections.

1. Rainwater
Rainwater is full of pollutants. Sts make your scalp sticky and itchy. Get drenched in rain but take a shower after you come to the home. Wash off your hair to make it free from rainwater and get rid of sweat and stickiness from your scalp.
2. Use of a soft towel
Use soft towels to dry your hair as it absorbs the water quickly. Use of a soft towel reduces the friction between your hair and the towel, which ultimately reduces hair fall.
Wet hairs give an invitation to many fungal infections. Make sure you properly dry out your hair.
3. Apply Hair Oil
Oil your hair at least twice a week, but massage gently to avoid breakage. We recommend oiling for the nourishment of your hair. Try to avoid oiling daily as our scalps already have oil glands which secret oil.
4. Proper diet
Add fruits, leafy vegetables, whole grains, chicken, eggs and fish in your diet. Eat food rich in protein, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids such as carrots, spinach, walnuts, and fish like mackerel & salmon for the strength to your hair follicle. Amla and curds help to make your hair always black and maintain its natural colour.
5. Keep hydrated
Drink at least 8-12 glasses of water daily. Avoid caffeine, tea or products, which makes your body dehydrated.
6. Protect your hairs
Accessories with a scarf or hairband to protect your hair from excessive moisture. Always carry umbrella or hair cap to prevent hair from extra damage.
7. Choose the right Shampoo
Use mild shampoos which do not contain Isopropyl Alcohol, Mineral Oil, PEG-Polyethylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol (PG), Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), Chlorine, DEA (Diethanolamine), MEA (monoethanolamine), and TEA (Triethanolamine).
8. Braiding
Braiding your hairs in this season not only protect it from damage but also strengthen hair follicles.
9. A good serum
Another common complaint during the monsoon is frizziness. A good serum can help tame unruly hair, giving you a smoother finish. Anti-frizz serum or Kérastase Oleo-Relax serum is very helpful.
10. Correct comb
It is essential to use the right comb in the monsoon. When dealing with wet hair, a wide-tooth comb is the best option. It helps to detangle your hair while also ensuring that the hair doesn’t break and tear.
11. Apply Hair Conditioner
Apply conditioner only to the ends of your hair and rinse it off with cold water for extra shine. If you’re using a leave-in conditioner, it will form a protective layer and protect your hair from the rain. Try not to use a conditioner often.
12. Tie hairs wisely
Tieing up hairs make you feel a bit relaxed compared with open hairs. Try to tie up hairs either with loose ponytails or buns. Don’t make tight buns or tight ponytails it severely affects the root of your hairs.
15. Hair colour
Rains can make the colour in your hair colour washed out. It’s a good idea to refresh the hair colour after a few weeks or months.
14. Use Lukewarm Water
Wash your hair with lukewarm water you will prevent losing natural shine from your hair and will avoid dull hair. the water should neither be too hot nor too cold. A good temperature reduces the risk of breakage to your hairs.
15. Hair Cut/ Trimming
Try to give your hair a trim every three months, and if you are prone to split ends, trim your hair every six weeks to keep it more healthy.
16. Avoid touching hairs frequently.
Our hairs contain natural oils that keep them healthy. Constantly or frequently touching them with hands makes the follicles present in hairs weak and this indirectly results in hair loss.
